Canada fest honors Iran ‘Empty View’

Iran animation ‘Empty View’ has succeeded to grab Award of Excellence from the 6th edition of Canada Shorts Film Festival.

Directed by Ali Zare-Qanatnowi, the flick represented Iran at  the competition section of the Canadian film event and succeeded to receive Award of Excellence.

‘Empty View’ depicts an old woman looking for the return of her missing son from the battle ground of an imposed war.

Nominated for best animation award at the 2018 Asians on Film Festival in the US and the 4th Bengal's International Film Festival in India, ‘Empty View’ has also gone on screen at the 13th Athens Animfest in Greece, the 2018 London City Film Awards in the UK, the 2018 FRICINE Festival in Brazil, the 2018 Tbilisi International Animation Festival in Georgia, the 6th My Mumbai International Film Festival in India, and the 7th Southampton International Film Festival in the UK.

Canada Shorts Film Festival deals with short filmmaking and strives to award quality shorts regardless of their budget. The festival provides indie filmmakers the opportunity for festival success and awards additional points to shorts produced on a micro budget or minimal crew.

The 2018 edition of the event was held on November 20-22.
